The post The best beauty products that went viral in 2025 appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
There’s always been cult beauty products, but since the rise of Instagram and TikTok, the concept of popularity has taken on an entire new meaning. One video has to power to render a single product viral — out of nowhere, it’s sold out everywhere; the subject of every online review or GRWM.

Some of it is unwarranted hype, but for the most part where there’s smoke there’s fire, hundreds of fans, waitlists and rave reviews have to account for something, right? It’s how beauty icons are created.

And so with that being said, I’ve compiled a list of the best viral beauty products in 2025. Some are serious innovations, others are a bit of fun – all of them worth your attention.

Biodance Real Deep Collagen Mask

This cheap and cheerful K-Beauty sheet mask went off online because of the way it turns translucent on the skin, before peeling off to reveal a glassy skin finish. The mask itself is soaked in a serum, but what it really does is push in any prior skincare – think of it as a moisture seal. Perfect overnight or before a big event.

Medicube Collagen Night Wrapping Mask

Similar to the above, this turns into a bit of a seal on the skin – almost like glad wrap – locking in moisture for extreme dewy-ness. The results are somewhat short-lived, but it’s gratifying nonetheless.

Victoria Beckham Beauty The Foundation Drops

The fact these drops have been almost entirely sold out online since the Mecca launch is all the proof we need. At $185 a bottle, the Internet is divided but the immediate glow, sheer but beautiful coverage and associated skincare benefits are something to behold.

Wonderskin All Day Lip Stain Peel Off and Reveal

This is all over TikTok — the blue stain can be painted on and peeled off, leaving your lips a long-lasting shade of berry beneath. For some it’s the perfect natural lip tint, while others like it as a lip combo base.

Avene Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream

Not exactly new, but this French face balm has a cult following (blame it on Hailey Bieber). It’s rich in zinc, copper and French thermal spring water to soothe stressed out, red or irritated skin. Sold.

RHODE Glazing Mist

On the topic of Hailey B, the beauty mogul broke the Internet once again this year with the launch of RHODE’s Glazing Mist. From the campaign (hello, Harris Dickinson) to the glazed skin finish, Bieber continues to have the beauty Internet in a chokehold. Peptide Lip Shape also deserves a spot on this list.

K18 AirWash Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo is a mostly boring category within beauty but K18 made it a thing with its AirWash formula. The oily scalp community seemingly declare it’s the best on the market.

Makeup Forever Artist Colour Pencil Wherever Walnut

Another Hailey Bieber special but this brown lip liner has also been endorsed by makeup artists (plus, it’s always sold out). Anywhere Caffeine is another popular, universally flattering shade.

MAC Lip Liner in Stone

We’re still firmly in the age of lip liner, and MAC is the original. Cool toned makeup has had a huge amount of attention, and the iconic MAC shade ‘Stone’ fits the bill. It can be used to contour the lips, or other parts of the face including the eyes and nose.

Clear Skin Club Clean Skin Towels

A continuous best seller on Amazon, these towels are designed for acne-prone skin types to avoid the need for bacteria-ridden cloths or face washers. They are biodegradable, as well.

Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey

This has been ‘viral’ before virality was a thing, but Black Honey had its moment in the sun this year thanks to an expanded shade range. The original is a deep pinky-berry hue that transforms based on the natural colouring of your lips. It’s the ultimate no makeup makeup lip product that balances pigment, moisture and ease of use.

Kerastase Gloss Absolu Glaze Drops

Glaze was the flavour of the year, with Kerastase’ viral Glaze Drops ruling the hair category. Light and quickly absorbed, they instantly smooth frizz while instilling reflective shine. Plus, they smell like roses.

PHLUR Vanilla Skin Eau de Parfum

Sweet, sticky perfumes are still the scent of choice for the masses, and PHLUR’s Vanilla Skin takes the (literal) cake. It’s creasy and plush with notes of sugar, sandalwood, cashmere and pink apple – perfume that’s good enough to eat.

Omnilux Contour LED Light Mask

LED light in general was huge this year, and continues to gain traction for a few reasons. Firstly, pending the mask is the right specs, it’s clinically proven to enhance skin quality. There’s also the relaxation benefit, plus the convenience of not needing to leave the house for a clinical treatment. Pending you’re consistent, it’s a worthy investment.

Beaubble Freckle Pen

Faux freckles were big this year and this pen seems to be the Internet favourite for its longevity and natural finish.

Haus Labs Triclone Concealer

Haus Labs finally launched into Sephora this year and the concealer seems to have lived up to its hype. The formula is super dense and creamy, so it conceals anything while remaining natural on the skin.

Merit The Minimalist

Viral for its ease of use and super natural finish, this foundation concealer hybrid is the one to use if you prefer makeup that’s quick, easy and foolproof.

Shimmering oils for delicious body skin this summer https://www.russh.com/best-body-shimmer/ Thu, 27 Nov 2025 01:30:03 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=272036 Be the life (and light) of every party this season.

The post Shimmering oils for delicious body skin this summer appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
Party season is here, and so too is our desire to turn up to the function looking glossy head to toe. When it comes to makeup, this is easy – but for the body it requires a strategic approach. You want something that illuminates when the light hits but doesn’t look like childish glitter; something that feels like silk but doesn’t stain your outfit. It’s a nuanced beauty endeavour but one that makes a world of difference, especially where the festive season and subsequent long summer nights are concerned.

From French classics to limited holiday formulas, find everything you need to look like a 90s supermodel dusted with gold, below.

Victoria Beckham Beauty Portofino 97 Golden Shimmer Body Oil

If you want to emulate Posh dancing on the back deck of a yacht, somewhere off the coast of Liguria during golden hour, this is the oil to use. It has a subtle golden hue that will enhance every skin tone, as well.

CHANEL Beauty N°5 The White Gold Body Oil

It’s a Christmas miracle that this oil is still in stock. As part of CHANEL’s holiday collection, this formula contains the finest pearl-toned shimmer that quietly illuminates the skin. The scent is soft, feminine and powdery, just like its namesake fragrance.

Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Shimmering Body Oil

With his penchant for small outfits, it’s no surprise Tom Ford also knows how to formulate a beautiful, limb-enhancing body shimmer. Soleil Blanc smells like white flowers, sand and crashing waves while the finish is super glossy and sunlit.

Naturium The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Body Butter

If you want glassy shine without actual shimmer, this semi-solid body oil is super rich and decadent. Also, Hailey Bieber is a fan…

Dior J’Adore Les Adorables Shimmering Body Oil

Worlds collide in the case of this body oil – the rich floral smell of J’Adore with a sheer, solar glow. It’s a grown up shimmer for anyone afraid of looking overly sparkly.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Shimmering Multi Purpose Dry Oil

This cult French formula is subtle but beautiful on the skin, and the dry oil consistency means it feels lightweight – not greasy, slippery or uncomfortable. Perfect for balmy summer evenings.

Summer Fridays Pool Time Glowing Body Oil

It makes sense that a beauty brand dedicated to the feeling of a summer Friday would make an incredible body oil. With macadamia, apricot and jojoba oils, it’s nourishing and softening with a subtle nutty smell. The sheen is subtle but very gorgeous (especially during golden hour).

Rationale The Illuminating Body Creme

If you want to look like you’ve been dipped in gold, this creme is the one. It has a festive sheen that sparkles in the light, but because it’s a cream, the finish is light and non-greasy. It’s also rich in niacinamide and lactic acid to support smooth, even-toned body skin long term.

Ultra Violette Disco Queen

Made for summer skin, this shimmering body oil has a dry but luminous finish and an SPF of 50 for added sun protection. Perfect for beach/boat days that turn into sunset drinks and dinner.

Cool, metallic fragrances that smell like the future https://www.russh.com/best-metallic-perfume/ Thu, 20 Nov 2025 02:00:05 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=271224 Artificial notes of silver, lacquer and electronics straight up.

The post Cool, metallic fragrances that smell like the future appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
The best thing about fragrance is its ability to elicit emotion – it has the power to change the way we feel, and alter the energy we bring to a room. These days you can channel almost anything through fragrance: power, confidence, hotness, the purity of baby skin or clean laundry… But sometimes, we crave something more obscure. Sure – plants, flowers and woods are wonderful but what about smelling cold, metallic or like the future?

Right now, at the height of A.I. and digital everything, there’s a new guard of personal scents that give off notes of electrical equipment, lacquer and oil. Not in an off-putting way, but in a sleek way – think metal boots in the snow, cool silver, coins, Pris from Blade Runner – punk-ish but also super clean.

The best perfumes that smell robotic and futuristic, below.

Le Labo Aldehyde 24

Putting this at the top of the list because it’s my personal favourite that fits into this category. It is a city exclusive, so you might need to travel to Dallas to get your hands on it, but the scent is specifically designed to ‘cool down’ its wearer (apt, given Dallas is known for soaring temperatures). The refrigerated metal effect is caused by a huge amount of aldehydes, white flowers and a tiny bit of musk.

Ganymead

By the legendary perfumer Quentin Bisch, Ganymead is named after the largest moon in the solar system. Discovered by Galileo in 1610, it orbits around Jupiter – a silvery planet covered with salty oceans. The inspired scent is light, mineralic and slightly worn (there’s notes of aged leather). Other-wordly, strange and addictive are words that come to mind.

Creed Silver Mountain Water

A cult classic, Silver Mountain Water is more rooted in reality – think clean water, the colour white and the freshest mountain air you can imagine. But its purity gives it an unnerving edge – a disarming fragrance for minimalists.

Escentric Molecules Molecule 01

The original synthetic skin musk scent, Molecule 01 smells like nothing and everything all at once. The singular note inside it, Iso E Super, takes on a life of its own depending on the wearer. Futuristic but primal. Perfect if you want to smell mysteriously attractive but also entirely like yourself.

Hermes H24

While categorically a male fragrance, H24 is super clean and herbaceous with a cooling effect – there’s clary sage and oak moss but also an overdose of scarlene, a synthetic molecule known for its icy, metallic finish.

Celine Cologne Celeste

This has a newborn powdery sweetness to it, but there’s a sheet metal edge; musky but cold at the same time. It’s youthful and fresh, with just a touch of clinical starkness – something I imagine Patrick Bateman would wear.

D S & Durga Steamed Rainbow

Mandarin, resins, almond flowers, vetiver and vapour – this smells like the air after a summer electrical storm. Imagine wet concrete, steam, sweetness and lightning.

Chanel Platinum Égoïste

A self proclaimed perfume for extraverts, Égoïste is a very fresh blend of clary sage (I’m sensing a theme) plus lavender and geranium. It’s very vibrant and tingly – the concept is that the cologne replicates the cool, slick luxury of pure platinum.

Maison Francis Kurkdijan Gentle Fluidity Silver

This perfume almost vibrates in the bottle. It’s aromatic and metropolitan – an olfactory interpretation of a concrete jungle.

Comme des Garcon Concrete

More concrete, this time from Comme des Garçon. Described as an exploration of destruction, construction and creation, Concrete is dry, dark and heavy. With urban notes of cumin, clove and musk, it’s a dystopian city scape that is, surprisingly, very beautiful on the skin.

Maison Margiela Celestial Whispers

Metal, cold smoke, moons, stars and auras. This fragrance is equal parts dark magic and bright light (think myrrh, aldehydes, incense, musk and cedar).

French rolls and eye bags: the ‘RUSSH’ guide to spring beauty trends https://www.russh.com/spring-beauty-trends/ Tue, 21 Oct 2025 22:29:14 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=266668 Basically all the beauty looks in our saved folder.

The post French rolls and eye bags: the ‘RUSSH’ guide to spring beauty trends appeared first on RUSSH.

A new seasons always offers the perfect time for reinvention. It doesn’t necessarily have to indicate a complete overhaul, but subtle changes to energise you for the remainder of the year (what little of it we have left, anyway). Spring beauty is the perfect way to do so – an unexpected colour combination, new hair cut, fun manicure or similar can do wonders for your mood and sense of self. What better time to experiment than now, while the weather warms and our calendars fill up with social events?

To offer you some inspiration, we’ve curated some of the best Spring beaut trends according to RUSSH, from Phoebe Philo inspired manicures to French hair combs (see The Row).

80s Shag

Pamela Anderson is our beauty north star these days. Follow suit and go bare-faced whilst cutting your hair into a razored 80s shag. Debbie Harry is another great reference.

Eye Bags

If you’re dragging your feet to the end of the year (because, same) forgo concealer and embrace any under-eye shadows. If it’s good enough for Charli XCX and Gabbriette, it’s good enough for us. You can even add a soft black liner, or some taupe shadow underneath to enhance the air of exhaustion.

Hair Combs & French Rolls

Despite the phone ban at The Row’s recent Paris runway, the show hair look has kind of gone viral. Consider it a sign to scour eBay for vintage hair combs.

Monochrome Makeup

One of the easiest ways to have fun with makeup without needing to getting technical is sticking to a monochrome palette across eyes, cheeks and lips. Try a neutral lip, like makeup artist Cyndle Komarovski, or follow Hailey Bieber’s lead with an all-over sunburnt pink or sun kissed brown.

Subtle metallics

It’s party season, and so time to dust off your metallics. It doesn’t need to be confined to your eyelids, either. Press it onto cheekbones and on the cupid’s bow for an all-over ethereal finish.

Bobby Pins

More hair inspiration, this time from the Khaite runway. Perfect for high humidity or when you’ve stretched out the time between shampoos just a little too far.

Multi-Coloured Manicures

This Phoebe Philo campaign made its way around the RUSSH team group chat, just just for the great lip colour but for the manicure.

Baby Pink

I just can’t stop thinking about the Chloe runway beauty look: a soft chalky matte pink. While hard to wear, it makes a case for pastels and pink in general (a nice departure from classic red or berry).

Blunt Bangs

We’re still thinking about the late, great Jane Birkin – and of course her perfect hair. If you’re thinking about a fringe, Jennifer Lawrence is a great modern example of heavy bangs that are so bold and distinctive, they basically are the outfit.

Plaits

I love this hair look because it would work equally well on the weekend as it would for a black tie dinner. Simple, undone but purposeful.

Are sauna meetings the future of workplace wellness? https://www.russh.com/workplace-wellness-sauna-meetings/ Thu, 18 Sep 2025 03:30:25 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=263358 Maybe a sweat session – not a martini – is the key to your next big career win.

The post Are sauna meetings the future of workplace wellness? appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
I have a friend who, pre marriage, liked to schedule first dates at the Bondi Icebergs sauna (specifically on a weekday). She didn’t believe in potentially wasting a sacred Friday or Saturday slot, but also found that sweating in a state of near nakedness was an effective way to break down barriers. No clothes, no alcohol, no phones and no room for awkwardness or immaturity. It became clear very quickly if there was a connection. And worse case (i.e. a bad date), at least she got a sauna in.

Bathing culture in general has gained a lot of traction in the past few years. I think it’s aligned to our increasing reliance on technology and the associated burn out. We’re tired, lonely, detached and under pressure. Life just feels harder and heavier right now.

Wellness rituals, like a sweaty sauna, are a balm for all of the above. As a practice, it works well alone or with strangers, but in a bid to habit stack, people are viewing it as a way to socialise. This goes for dating and friendship, but potentially our professional lives, as well. We have standing desks, office treadmills… should we strategise and do deals in the sauna, too?

In Finland, where ritualistic bathing culture is prevalent, it’s common to conduct business meetings in the sauna. It’s considered informal but facilitates connection; the egalitarian atmosphere and lack of clothing level the playing field. The Finnish parliamentary house even has its own sauna chamber for MPs to debate in. It’s considered a place to relax, have honest discussions and share true opinions. The intimacy of it all cultivates a sense of vulnerability, too. You’re exposed, and thus honest. Status symbols, like suits, bags, jewellery and watches, are left outside. Distractions are also minimal. There’s no iPhones. No need to screen share. No shaky internet, no accidentally putting yourself on mute. It’s the antithesis of a board room.

The Wall Street Journal recently declared the sauna as the hottest place to network. Upmarket wellness hubs are taking aim at “ambitious, hardworking urbanites” who care about their careers as much as their health. They want to meet people in real life (the post-COVID zoom hangover still lingers), but they don’t always want it to revolve around alcohol. Maybe a sauna offers the same kind of deal-closing social lubrication? Even Substacker Emily Sundberg of Feed Me declared she’s ready to be invited to a business meeting in a sauna. I think I am too.

This is essentially an extension of workplace wellness, where professionals, and sometimes the businesses they work for, are tying to integrate healthy habits into everyday life. We know that hours of sitting is bad for our posture, not to mention the constant peering down at our phones (a habit my Osteopath tells me has changed the physical structure of my neck). And then there’s the alcohol. For so long, corporate culture has been fuelled by three-martini lunches (not to mention the excessive consumption of caffeine). But as we continue to reevaluate our professional lives, we’re chasing balance. Yes to martinis, but yes to balance and a regulated nervous system. Yes to getting out of fight or flight. An occasional workplace sauna might be the perfect way to do so. I’m into it.

For some, an endless rotation of memories and moods, for others the same scent worn day in day out. These are the fragrances the RUSSH editors hold close and the signature scents we can’t do without.

Stacey Gaskin

Consumer Revenue Manager

I’ve been loving ARMANI Beauty’s Privé Santal Dan Sha Eau de Toilette and always get compliments from family and friends when I wear it. It’s woody in the best way, and makes me feel refreshed and spicy.

I would say the fragrance that I have loved for the longest time would be Maison Margiela’s Lazy Sunday Morning. It’s soft, fresh and features pear. I feel calm and warm when I wear it.

Another woody scent that is earthy but still soft, I reach for my Aesop Hwyl Eu de Parfum. I feel like this is Bella Swan coded, that’s what I tell myself anyway.

Cassandra Dimitroff

Production Editor

If I had to choose a single scent to wear for the rest of my life it would be – and has been for years – Diptyque’s Do Son. It’s subtle but never not there, and by far the most complimented scent I’ve ever worn. I’m also recently a massive convert to the CHANEL SYCOMORE from their Les Exclusifs range – my favourite perfumer recently described it as “possibly the most perfect vetiver ever created” and I couldn’t agree more. It’s earthy, grounding and unisex – great for anyone wanting to smell like a forest or an Aesop store. I’ve also recently found myself gravitating toward TSU LANGE YOR’s newest scent By Your Side, which I immediately clocked as a sophisticated sister of Glossier’s ubiquitous You – pink peppercorns and cedar being its top notes.

Olivia Repaci

Creative Studio and Campaigns Manager

I have a roster of fragrances sitting atop my dressing table, depending on my mood for the day. For a casual day when I’m feeling chill and nonchalant, I’ll do the Glossier You fragrance because it settles really nicely. For a day I’m feeling stylish and chic and delusional because I’m never those things, I really love the Maison Louis Marie Icila fragrance. I have it in a cute little roll on and slip it in my bag for any reapplication needs. I just went to Japan with my partner and purchased the Maison Margiela Replica ‘on a date’ fragrance that has now joined my rotation whenever I want to be transported back to my trip. And lastly, for any special occasions or evenings out, I can’t go out without wearing my favourite Armani Beauty Si fragrance.

Emily Algar

Beauty Editor

I have a vast collection of fragrances — it’s the one area of my life where I am not a minimalist. But I can definitely call out my favourites or signatures. I love warmth, woods and musk, specifically Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur, Hermes J’our d’Hermès and Celine Cologne Celeste. And for compliments, Frederic Malle Music For a While.

Kirsty Thatcher

Digital Editor

Whenever I wear Le Labo’s Noir 29, I can pretty much guarantee someone will ask me what scent I’m wearing. It’s actually how I discovered the fragrance myself, on a mutual passerby at a house party several years ago, and it’s been my signature ever since. For something a little fresher, but not overly sweet, I always come back to Byredo’s Super Cedar. It’s the perfect gender neutral scent. And I can’t leave off my trustee Glossier You – I come back to it, again and again.

Megan Nolan

Marketing Manager

When I say I’ve been wearing the same Nina Ricci fragrance since I was 16 I’m not even slightly exaggerating. The TikTok algorithm has, however, been working its magic lately and I’ve finally started perfuming (yes, I’m making it a word) to my mood.

So far I’ve found two which I’ve thrown into the mix. The first is Who is Elijah Morning After which I’ve made my night time scent. The woody, leather vibes make me feel sophisticated and mysterious compared to my usual more floral vibe.

The second is Fame by Paco Rabanne. This was sprayed in the RUSSH office a few weeks ago and it brought me right back to the Britney Spears Fantasy epidemic of 2005, but in a good way. Floral but with more of a citrus undertone, it’s my current daytime crush. Plus the bottle makes me laugh everytime I look at it which is always a win.

Alys Hale

Music Editor and Creative Producer

Can you have but one signature scent? I feel that you can have a signature for every occasion, and every season. Mine are all varied, however their unifying factor is there’s always nostalgia and a good dashing of leather. Penhaligons is heavy on the nostalgia for me, it was the smell of my father getting ready for a dinner party, so I now wear Halfeti Leather myself when I want to host. They have recently released Fortuitous Finley, which may be my latest favourite. With leather and a generous dose of pistachio it is somehow evocative of a summer hack or a pistachio cannoli on holiday. Byredo’s Biblioteque does take me back to being a fresh graduate and is definitely a fragrance for all hours, and I find I am always running out of Frederic Malle’s A Portrait of a Lady.

9 perfume brands that have the same magnetic power as Phlur https://www.russh.com/brands-like-phlur/ Wed, 10 Sep 2025 05:00:28 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=262577 A lesson on being the best smelling person in any room.

The post 9 perfume brands that have the same magnetic power as Phlur appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
We’re living in the era of fragrance. Right now, deciding on the way we smell is just as intentional as the bag we carry, or the sunglasses we wear (also, cheaper – think the lipstick index, but for fragrance). What’s more, scent is invisible – it fills the space between two people. What could be more special than that?

One indie perfume house playing in this space is Phlur. It belongs to Chriselle Lim, an influencer turned beauty entrepreneur who has single-handedly created several cult scents based on poignant moments in her life. Take Father Figure, a gender-neutral perfume that came off the back of her divorce, where she suddenly had to be both parents at once. Phlur is also known right now for owning the gourmand category – sweet, syrupy, food-adjacent smells like Heavy Cream (marshmallow, mousse, vanilla cream) or Strawberry Letter (red berries, apple blossom). The brand just launched at Mecca, but much of it is currently sold out… You might also be an existing brand fan, but want to expand your repertoire, and so we’ve rounded up some of the best brands like Phlur. Different, but equally disarming.

BORNTOSTANDOUT

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by MECCA (@meccabeauty)

Borntostandout is a Korean fragrance house with a bold approach to scent compositions. Founded by burnt out investment banker turned perfumer Jun Lim, it’s developed a cult following thanks to its tongue-in-cheek humour and super sexy scents.

Try: Nanatopia, a candied blend of banana bread, nutmeg, caramel, rum and cinnamon (very Banofee pie coded).

Boy Smells

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Boy Smells (@boy__smells)

Boy Smells is a Los Angeles founded perfume house founded by Matthew Herman and David Kien. The brand celebrates the fluidity of gender – the perfumes are neither masculine nor feminine – as well as off-beat note compositions like Rose Load and Suede Pony.

Try: LES, a primal, juicy mix of peony, pomelo, vanilla and ambrox. It’s sexy and fun with a soft edge.

Fugazzi

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by FUGAZZI Fragrances (@fugazzifragrances)

Fugazzi founder Bram Niessink was apparently inspired by the story of Cleopatra conquering Caesar simply by smelling good. Now, his approach to fragrance is rebellious and illusive, with mouth-watering hero notes like creamy vanilla, mango, ginger and cannabis.

Try: Angel Dust. This scent is soothing, soft and ethereal, almost like a bright white aura. With notes of cashmere, pepper and white amber crystals, it’s the perfect non-perfume perfume.

Ellis Brooklyn

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by ELLIS BROOKLYN (@ellisbrooklyn)

Founded by former beauty columnist Bee Shapiro, Ellis Brooklyn came from Bee’s search for a pregnancy-safe perfume, but soon evolved into clean scents that are characterised by bright, joyous note profiles.

Try: Miami Nectar. Categorised as a tropical gourmand, Miami Nectar is super sweet, juicy and sticky – there’s coconut water, salty wood, plum and pineapple. If you could bottle up the smell of sipping a pina colada during a summer storm, this would be it.

The Maker

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by The Maker (@themakerhotel)

Founded by the duo behind Fresh Beauty, Lev Glazman and Aline Roytberg, The Maker is inspired by its NYC hotel counterpart, with the intention of bottling up the feeling that comes from staying in a luxury hotel. The perfumes push the gourmand category to its limit: think notes like vanilla, cinnamon butter, fig and peach. But more importantly the capture a feeling – a fling in a new city, the fluffy warmth of a hotel bed or the sense of unknown that comes with travel.

Try: Dream, a cosy mix of vanilla bourbon, magnolia and amber glaze.

Nette

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by NETTE (@nette.nyc)

Nette has gained a cult following thanks to its creative approach to perfume-making. Each scent is inspired by a fictional protagonist in a made-up world. They’re scents with stories behind them. Designed to boost the wearer’s mood, each bottle also comes with a poem engraved.

Try: Lemon Puff, a candied lemon and whipped meringue masterpiece that smells a little Italian, but mostly like a Parisienne patisserie.

Killian Paris

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by KILIAN PARIS (@kilianparis)

Killian has been an in the know niche perfume house for years, but gained a lot of attention when it was reported that Rhianna, who allegedly smells like ‘an angel’, exclusively wore its Love Don’t Be Shy. If you want rich, provocative perfume with staying power, Killian is a safe bet.

Try: Angel’s Share. An homage to cognac making, this smells like a sexy bar with notes of dark liquor, oak, tonka and cinnamon.

Tom Ford

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by TOM FORD BEAUTY (@tomfordbeauty)

Wearing a Tom Ford fragrance is like telling the world you’re somebody. Known for rich florals, dark woods and sexy sentiments (F*cking Fabulous was a real moment when it launched) the entire portfolio is bold, emotive and designed to stir emotion.

Try: Rose Prick, an airy, sugary mix of rose and musk. Super feminine and cloying in the best possible way.

Maison Margiela Replica

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Maison Margiela Fragrances (@maisonmargielafragrances)

Replica fragrances, Like Phlur, are all about bottling up a feeling. Inspired by vignettes, picturesque scenes or moments in time, wearing any Margiela fragrance is guaranteed to change your mood in an instant.

Try: Bubble Bath, a soapy, frothy mix of rose, powder, patchouli and white musk.

‘RUSSH’ loves: Beauty favourites for September 2025 https://www.russh.com/russh-beauty-favourites-september-2025/ Mon, 08 Sep 2025 06:30:56 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=262328 From french cleansing balm to Fendi fragrance.

The post ‘RUSSH’ loves: Beauty favourites for September 2025 appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
September often feels like a new year. If you’re in the northern hemisphere, it’s back to school season. In the southern hemisphere, it’s the onset of spring, and a reminder to us all all that summer is just around the corner. It’s a time for fresh energy and renewed rituals – a new scent, updated skincare, or easy makeup innovations designed to streamline your morning.

It’s also the beginning of party season, where brands begin to roll out new launched designed to make us feel and look our social best. From French cleansers to Korean wrapping masks to button-inspired eyeshadow, all our beauty favourites for September, below.

Sans [ceuticals] Perpetual Hair Cleanser Kit

Clean beauty brand Sans [ceuticals] has just unveiled Perpetual, a zero waste hair cleansing system. It’s a waterless cleansing bar that emulsifies with shower water, creating a foamy shampoo for clean, soft, gleaming hair. The canister can also be refilled – it’s an incredible feat in sustainable beauty design. Also, great shampoo. There’s a matching conditioner, too.

Fendi Eaux d’Artiface

Fendi’s return to fragrance has been a triumph. Eau d’Artiface is a scented interpretation of high jewellery sitting on a neckline – juniper, herbs, salty aquatic notes with a metallic finish, like a coin tossed into the Trevi fountain. It’s delicate but undeniably opulent.

CHANEL Beauty Les 4 Ombres Boutons Quad Eye Shadow

Eye shadow inspired by the buttons on a CHANEL tweed jacket? Say less. Like all CHANEL makeup, this quad is pigmented, but still very wearable. I love the Mademoiselle colourway, the pinks are fresh and the taupe is perfect for every day.

Balmain Cuir Élysées

Just in from Balmain, Cuir Élysées is an interesting mix of raspberry and leather – a sweet, syrupy fruit bowl with depth. If you want to get into gourmands but don’t want to smell edible, this is a perfect harmony of warmth, wood, rose and red berries.

Raaie Tranquility Activating Water Mist

Misting is the easier way to boost your skincare or improve moisture retention without the need for a complete overhaul. Raaie’s Activating Water Mist is super fine and enriched with thermal volcanic water from New Zealand to drench the skin in moisture, while improving the absorption of your remaining skincare. I love the purity and sensorial element of all Raaie’s formulas, they’re beautiful to use and visibly improve the look and feel of your complexion.

Tom Ford Black Orchid Lipstick

If you haven’t clocked the Tom Ford Black Orchid Reserve Tilda Swinton campaign, stop what you’re doing and immediately go look. After that, take in the perfect pink-berry hue of its matching lipstick, an homage to the classic spicy floral scent the house is known for. It’s a true but classic pink – feminine and statement-making without the commitment of a red.

Ameōn Supreme Energy Frozen Essence

Summer is coming and so too are soaring temperatures. One of my favourite skincare adjacent activities is facial icing. I almost always use a roller, but recently discovered these frozen facial essence cubes from Ameōn. You simply put them in the freezer and whenever you need an instantaneous skin fix, move the cube across your face, patting the essence in throughout the process. Great for sleepless nights, redness, puffiness, hangovers and the like.

Merit Great Skin Double Cleanser

If you know you should double cleanse but can’t really be bothered, this is the cleanser for you. Merit get that people are busy, and so they created a bi-phase formula that breaks down sunscreen and makeup while deeply cleansing for soft, pure, comfortable skin.

Mimétique Skin Cloud Nourishing Cleansing Balm

More facial cleansers, but this time from French brand Mimétique, a biotech brand with the ethos that formulas should work with our skin, and not against it. Skin Cloud begins as a dense balm that liquifies into an oil and then milk, removing all signs of makeup while replenishing moisture levels. It’s very gentle, so great for reactive, sensitive skin.

Medicube Collagen Night Wrapping Mask

While not exactly new, Medicube has just launched at David Jones and the viral wrapping mask is in stock (for now). The mask itself has some beneficial ingredients, but it also acts as a bit of an occlusive seal, locking in all your skincare for a super bouncy, plump finish when you wake up and peel it off (kind of like glad wrap.

Kosas Dreambeam Comfy Smooth Tinted Base

Kosas do great base products, and Dreambeam is no exception. It’s a light fluid that floods the skin with moisture while gently evening out skin tone (plus sun protection – but you will need a dedicated sunscreen) for either healthy-looking bare skin, or prep for makeup.

Necessaire The Deodorant Olibanum

If you want an aluminium-free deodorant that smells great, feels nice and works, Necessaire Olibanum is the one. It’s dry and comfortable, smells soft but smoky and uses both zinc and AHAs to keep your armpits dry.

From Zoë to Hailey, these are the celebrity makeup artists behind the looks in your saved folder https://www.russh.com/best-celebrity-makeup-artists/ Wed, 03 Sep 2025 04:51:21 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=261722 Beauty blueprints.

The post From Zoë to Hailey, these are the celebrity makeup artists behind the looks in your saved folder appeared first on RUSSH.

Celebrity makeup artists used to be behind the scenes only, but now they’re our favourite influencers. They get the latest product, have all the techniques, and know exactly what it takes to create the perfect wing, lip combination or skin finish. Zoë Kravitz might not tell us what foundation she’s wearing, but her makeup artist Nina Park will. Great beauty can make or break a pop culture moment, as well. Just look at Hailey Bieber and her strawberry girl cheeks, or her glazed donut lips – it’s the stuff of beauty legend (and she has makeup artist Leah Darcy to partially thank for it).

For every Hollywood makeup look we save on Instagram, there’s a talented professional who’s artistry brought it to life. This list is a celebration of all our favourite celebrity makeup artists. Whether you need a reference or just appreciate good makeup, you’ll find our edit of the best below.

No one does makeup like Nina Park. Her a-list clientele help (Zoë, Hailey Bieber, Lily-Rose Depp), but really she’s a master of fresh skin, subtle smoky eyes and baby-faced blush. Recent mega hits include Margaret Qualley at the NY premiere of Honey, Don’t and Zoë’s Caught Stealing press tour (but really, Zoë any time). Nina’s work is also the perfect blueprint for future brides.

Cyndle Komarovski

Clients include:

Cyndle is as talented as they come. She frequently works on campaigns for the likes of CHANEL, Khaite and Proenza Schouler, plus red carpet looks for cool girls like Charlotte Casiraghi and Kristine Froseth. Her vibe is high fashion with a creative edge: raw skin, a matte scarlet lip, navy smoked out shadow, a graphic liner.

Pati Dubroff

Clients include:

Margot RobbiePhoebe TonkinKirsten DunstElizabeth Olsen

If you swooned over Margot Robbie’s face at every appearance on the Barbie movie press tour, then you’ll know the work of Pati Dubroff. Another CHANEL aligned artist, Pati is an expert at fresh, natural, feminine makeup. No one does a pink lip quite like her. Fun fact, she was also the makeup artist behind Mark-Kate and Ashley’s iconic strobed skin from the early 2000s.

Leah Darcy Pike

Clients include:

I think it’s fair to say that Leah is the artist behind the great strawberry girl makeup trend of 2024. Alongside Hailey Bieber and her brand’s famous Pocket Blush, Leah inspired hyper-flushed cheeks and faux freckles around the world (she was the makeup artist on the Pocket Blush campaign, as well). Blush aside, her makeup vibe is cool but glamorous – contoured lips, gloss, liner, fluffy lashes and considered use of colour.

Mary Phillips

Clients include:

Kendall JennerHailey BieberJennifer LopezSabrina Carpenter

Another Hailey Bieber-approved makeup-artist, Mary Phillips is a master of defined but natural-looking skin (she popularised the underpainting technique, even building her eponymous brand off the back of it). Her work is imperceptible – every product melts seamlessly into one another for a flawless, lifted finish.

Sam Visser

View this post on Instagram

Clients include:

Alex CosaniBella HadidDua Lipa

Sam is one of the coolest new talents that’s risen up within the beauty industry in recent years. A YSL artist, he’s as well known for celebrity looks as he is for editorials, covers and campaigns. His style is bold, sculpted and glamorous: sharp cheekbones, thick gloss, bold colour and graphic shapes. There’s a distinctive 80s feeling to his work – Way Bandy meets Kevyn Aucoin.

Gucci Westman

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Gucci Westman (@gucciwestman)

Clients include:

Nicole KidmanAnne HathawayJennifer AnistonCameron Diaz

Gucci is one of the most decorated makeup artists of the last decade, and the woman behind countless iconic red carpet looks. Her work is classic and glamorous but always fresh – old Hollywood with a contemporary edge. Her own brand, Westman Atelier, is an amalgamation of this; she believes in makeup that’s good for the skin, and creamy textures that impart radiance.

Raoul Alejandre

Clients include:

The only way to describe Raoul’s work is other wordly. He loves colour, graphic shapes and iridescent finishes, a digitised kind of makeup that looks like it was generated by a machine, not a human. Also, any person that Zendaya trusts is a person we want to know about.

Katie Jane Hughes

Clients include:

Katie has had one of the biggest careers of a makeup artist in recent history and has produced some incredible work, but her recent collaboration with Dua Lipa has been incredible to watch. Katie knows how to do party makeup to the highest degree: immaculate skin, glitter, fluffy lashes and sunburnt blush in a way that looks fresh and fun (never too much).
