What\u2019s your earliest beauty-related memory?<\/strong><\/p>\n Using my mother\u2019s lipstick \u2013 very badly \u2013 both on my face and on the walls.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What was your earliest beauty influence?<\/strong><\/p>\n I was never hugely drawn towards makeup, but I loved hair and having my hair brushed. Despite being one of four girls, makeup never played a huge part in our lives.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Talk to me about beauty PR \u2014 what does a brand need to resonate or cut through these days?<\/strong><\/p>\n We are not a traditional beauty agency, but I think what is interesting is that no one is\u00a0 just<\/em> interested in beauty, fashion, art or culture separately \u2013 we try to have a point of view across all of these worlds. We like to create authentic communities around brands and clients who can become their friends and supporters. I feel more than ever that a brand needs to have a singular vision, and product that is unique to themselves.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What\u2019s your personal philosophy when it comes to beauty?<\/strong><\/p>\n I am terrible at beauty for the most part \u2013 I keep things very simple. I am also very loyal, so when I find something that works, it\u2019s a \u2018forever\u2019 thing for me.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Have you found that time and ageing has evolved this in any way?<\/strong><\/p>\n Ironically, I feel more comfortable in my skin and body now in my 40s than I did in my youth. I don\u2019t really enjoy my grey hair but aside from that I feel okay.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What about motherhood and welcoming your daughter?<\/strong><\/p>\n I have more lines on my face, and less time to do push-ups and Pilates<\/a>, but in reality, you spend so much time running around after children \u2013 it keeps you fit. I am also more of the mindset that I want my daughter to be happy in her own skin and not dwell on \u2018definitions\u2019 of what beauty is.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n How do you feel about growing old?<\/strong><\/p>\n I am absolutely fine about growing old, but health is wealth and something that I am more preoccupied with now in my 40s. NEKO health [a preventative full body health scan] was a really interesting moment for me this year.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n How do you feel about cosmetic procedures and \u2018work\u2019 that interfere with ageing?<\/strong><\/p>\n Each to their own. I would be nervous of anything too strong, and personally find the fillers\/lips not really my world, but who knows\u2026 Maybe one day I would feel differently.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What do you feel is your most beautiful feature?<\/strong><\/p>\n Maybe my hair or teeth? But perhaps ask someone else for me \u2013 I don\u2019t think I am the right person to ask.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Alternatively, do you have any beauty hang ups?<\/strong><\/p>\n So many. I am actually very shy and self-conscious for the most part.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What\u2019s one beauty lesson you wish you could tell your younger self?<\/strong><\/p>\n It\u2019s ok, you will get some confidence in years to come.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Do you have a beauty icon?<\/strong><\/p>\n Susie Cave, always and forever.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What catches your attention when you look at someone you think is beautiful?<\/strong><\/p>\n Their eyes, smile and skin.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What makes you look and feel glamorous?<\/strong><\/p>\n Diamonds and a blow dry.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?<\/strong><\/p>\n Put my contact lenses in and brush my hair.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n And the last thing you do before you go to bed?<\/strong><\/p>\n Take my contact lenses out\u2026 and brush my hair. These rituals seem to bookend my day.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Do you need much sleep?<\/strong><\/p>\n I think we are all meant to need<\/em>\u00a0lots of sleep but I\u2019m well acquainted with insomnia \u2013 having a baby wasn\u2019t too scary for me, actually. This week alone I have worked five nights on top of my day job, so sleep is illusive right now.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Can you tell me your top five skincare products, and why you love them?<\/p>\n As mentioned, I’m very loyal to what I think works for me and my routine. I tend to stick with Emma Lewisham<\/a>. My favourite products are the Skin Reset Serum<\/a>, Supernatural Blemish Serum<\/a>, Illuminating Oil Cleanser<\/a>, Sunceutical SPF Mineral Glow Serum<\/a> to give me some colour, and the Supernatural Cr\u00e8me Riche<\/a>. I also love some Elizabeth Arden lip salve<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What about hair care \u2013 you have the most incredible length. What products do you credit for its health?<\/strong><\/p>\n Rarely cutting it, washing it once a week and never really dying it.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Who cuts it?<\/strong><\/p>\n No one really \u2013 I only get it cut when I have to\u2026 but I would probably let Josh Wood touch it.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What\u2019s your favourite lipstick?<\/strong><\/p>\n I really like the MERIT ones<\/a>, they have a lovely selection of colours.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What\u2019s your signature scent?<\/strong><\/p>\n To My Ships Of the Gods<\/a>. I wear it religiously.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What does it smell like; why do you love it?<\/strong><\/p>\n It has a historical but clean feel to it \u2013 its leafy, has hints of citrus and polygonum. I feel like it works for me and my skin. I also use the deodorant, I could never go back to a cheap antiperspirant.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What’s the most unusual beauty habit you have?<\/strong><\/p>\n I do very little. I rarely get manicures \u2013 is that unusual? Probably for my industry.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What\u2019s the one beauty product you always have on your person?<\/strong><\/p>\n Perfume. I am otherwise quite low maintenance.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Can you share your wellness rituals?<\/strong><\/p>\n Nothing fancy, but I always take my makeup off and remove my contact lenses before bed. I body brush when I remember, and always take magnesium in an attempt to support my sleep. I really enjoy getting Banyas (Russian saunas) and reflexology on a Friday night when I don\u2019t have to go out, too. I like cold spoons on my face when I\u2019m tired, and I believe in good sheets. Preferably from Tekla<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What is the strangest thing you\u2019ve done in the name of wellness?<\/strong><\/p>\n Maybe not the strangest but going to the VIVAMAYR Medical Health Resort<\/a> in Austria with my Mother was a really amazing experience.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Do you have a wellness vice?<\/strong><\/p>\n Reflexology with Jessica. We do it at home.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n How do you indulge yourself?<\/strong><\/p>\n Blow drys, Banyas and Thai massages.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n What is the last beauty product you recommended to a friend?<\/strong><\/p>\n Emma Lewisham<\/a>, as it genuinely works. It\u2019s also great for friends who are pregnant or sadly unwell \u2013 the entire line is pregnancy and cancer treatment safe which makes it a very meaningful gift during challenging times.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n And the last product you bought because you were influenced?<\/strong><\/p>\n Gucci Westman<\/a> products. Claire Goodwin recommended them and I always trust her.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What beauty spots in London do you recommend to friends visiting?<\/strong><\/p>\n Jasmina Vico<\/a> for facial treatments or Clarridges<\/a> for something out-of-this-world amazing in the spa.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What\u2019s the most London thing about you?<\/strong><\/p>\n I sometimes do my makeup on the bus, tube or the back of a taxi. There\u2019s no time at home in the mornings.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What film do you think has the greatest beauty moments?<\/strong><\/p>\n Oh, Funny Face<\/em> with Audrey Hepburn<\/a> is pretty amazing.
