Watch \u2026<\/em> Trailers for films I\u2019m excited about: The Moment<\/em> by Charli xcx, Wuthering Heights<\/em> by Emerald Fennell (on my twelfth-or-so rewatch), Bugonia<\/em> by Yorgos Lanthimos (I loved Poor Things<\/em> by him), and Mother Mary<\/em> by David Lowery. Alongside that, lots of YouTube like Actors on Actors<\/span><\/i><\/a> new season and vlogs from my faves Claudia Sulewski<\/span><\/a> and Devon Lee Carlson<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Listen \u2026<\/em> I discovered electronic punk \/ bass band SEXTILE<\/span><\/a> in the closing credits of Ep.6 of I Love LA.<\/em> I\u2019m obsessed specifically with Contortion and Disco. Have also rediscovered Triple J Like a Version<\/span><\/i><\/a> playlist on Spotify \u2013 always a fail-safe. I am equally excited for the Wuthering Heights<\/em> soundtrack\u2026<\/p>\n

Read\u2026 Lorrie Moore\u2019s Self Help<\/em><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/em>has been one of my standout reads of the year. Wry, sharp and tender, it\u2019s a book I know I\u2019ll definitely come back to.<\/p>\n

Read \u2026<\/em> Cameron Crowe\u2019s memoir <\/span>The Uncool<\/span><\/i><\/a>. If you\u2019re a fan of Almost Famous<\/em>, this acts as a kind of extended cut.<\/p>\n

Watch \u2026<\/em> The minutes go by until we\u2019re all on holiday\u2026? I jest, perhaps. I watched The Death of Bunny Munroe<\/em>, the series based on Nick Cave\u2019s 2009 novel<\/a> and adored it. Parts of it were incredibly silly but the performances were so genuine and Cave\u2019s cameo with that moustache: perfect. The new documentary on The New York Times<\/em> is on my list, and I learnt a lot of new theories on the scene from the Sean Combs documentary, along with some truly harrowing behaviours. However, I will be needing some festive joy and I\u2019m trying to convince the 7-year-old in my life to watch The Muppet\u2019s Christmas Carol<\/em> with me.<\/p>\n

Listen \u2026<\/em> Anything but Mariah Carey, under any circumstances. I do not get behind much Christmas music so it will be business as usual over here. Tom Waits\u2019 Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis<\/em><\/a> is the only exception to my rule.<\/p>\n

Read \u2026<\/em> I\u2019m still on my Jonathan Frazen moment so have been reading Crossroads<\/a>,<\/em> a family saga set in the 70s with affairs, christian youth groups and women with secret pasts.<\/p>\n

Watch\u2026<\/em> A24\u2019s Eternity<\/em>. I had such high expectations, and it really feels like a classic rom-com. I\u2019m also rewatching Veep<\/em> for the millionth time. It never fails to make me laugh, which feels very needed at the moment.<\/p>\n

Listen\u2026 Emma Chamberlain\u2019s guest appearance on In Your Dreams<\/em> with Owen Theile. IYKYK.<\/p>\n

Read\u2026 Heart The Lover<\/em>, by Lily King. I zipped through this in a few days, it\u2019s a great one to kick you off if you\u2019ve been in a reading slump (like me). Next on my list is Bitter Sweet<\/em> by Hattie Williams.<\/p>\n

Also, Knives Out: Wake Up Dead Man<\/em>, with Josh O\u2019Connor \u2013 do I need to say anything else? You already know it\u2019s a 10\/10 film. Also giving his character, a priest, a neck tattoo is so cunty.<\/p>\n

Watch \u2026<\/em> I\u2019ve been rewatching some of my favourite travel-themed movies. Call Me By Your Name<\/em>, Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants<\/em> and Only You<\/em>. They\u2019re the perfect movies to have on in the background for the scenery. Over the Christmas break I am planning to do a watch of the Oscars shortlist<\/p>\n

Listen \u2026<\/em> I discovered Stand Atlantic<\/em> after attending Good Things earlier in December. I technically did know them but only one or two songs. Now I\u2019ve been listening to their whole back catalogue, they\u2019re great.<\/p>\n

Read \u2026<\/em> I\u2019ve been stocking up for the December break. A Wuthering Heights<\/em> reread is on my list. I\u2019m hoping to finish the Throne of Glass<\/em> series. And also, I want to make my way through the Crescent City<\/em> books in preparation for the next ACOTAR<\/em> book which should be coming out at the beginning of 2026.<\/p>\n
